for those who've asked how my paintings evolve, here's some pictures of what the beginnings can look like. this commission is based on an existing piece (it held (then opened)), and so i'm initially putting down a similar pattern of color and shape. this particular piece is already showing its unique expression. the next stage will bring that forward.
