Stephen King

watercolor detail + watercolor detail with filter; study for fabric panels
My imagination is way too vivid to read much by author Stephen King (save for a 4ever love of Lisey's Story), but i'm mentored by his disciplined writing practice that's taking him well into early older age.

In a recent interview in The Atlantic, he talks about the process of creating: "...I don't outline, I just have a vague notion. So it's always felt like less of a made thing and more of a found thing. That's exciting. That's a thrill."

i also have only a vague notion before i paint. finding flowers on paper + canvas these days has me making studies in preparation for high-quality prints on paper and textiles/fabric. i'll have some of these new prints for sale at Luke's Frame Shop in May. available online, soon, too.
